O hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow’s wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all.
The crows above the forest call;
Tomorrow they may form and go.
O hushed October morning mild,
Begin the hours of this day slow.
Make the day seem to us less brief.
Hearts not averse to being beguiled,
Beguile us in the way you know.
Release one leaf at break of day;
At noon release another leaf;
One from our trees, one far away.
Retard the sun with gentle mist;
Enchant the land with amethyst.
Slow, slow!
For the grapes’ sake, if they were all,
Whose leaves already are burnt with frost,
Whose clustered fruit must else be lost—
For the grapes’ sake along the wall.

Prayer of St. Augustine

Lord Jesus, let me know myself and know you, and desire nothing save only you.

Let me hate myself and love you.

Let me do everything for the sake of you.

Let me humble myself and exalt you.

Let me think of nothing except you.

Let me die to myself and live in you.

Let me accept whatever happens as from you.

Let me banish the self and follow you, and ever desire to follow you.

Let me fly from myself and take refuge in you, that I may deserve to be defended by you.

Let me fear for myself, let me fear you,

And let me be among those who are chosen by you.

Let me distrust myself and put my trust in you.

Let me be willing to obey the sake of you.

Let me cling to nothing save only to you, And let me be poor because of you.

Look upon me, that I may love you.

Call me that I may see you, and forever enjoy you.

Amen.

Wedding Cake

My fiancé and I decided on not using fondant on our wedding cake! We have considered the  pros and cons regarding it and we decided on using icing instead. For the design,  I just want to something simple and classic. I never really realized how simple I liked things until I started all of my wedding planning! Haha! Oh, I can’t wait until we set up our appointment to taste test the different types of cakes! We’ll probably schedule it sometime during his next school break from Emory.
